ARTIST STATEMENT
The creatures who inhabit my work come to me in dreams. They appear as ghosts from lifetimes long since passed.
Villians and Vixens with messages of longing and heartbreak.
Heroes and Heroines reminding us of the danger of gluttony, consumption of animals and disrespect to the environment and its people.
Or maybe, just maybe they are simply pretty painted canvases to hang on your wall.
That, you must decide.

Carlos Paz is an artist and illustrator based in San Francisco. His primary mediums are video, painting and drawing.
Born in Honduras, his inspiration comes from the bold colors found in its heritage and landscapes. Subjects come from real and imagined figures dealing with heartbreak, animal welfare and release.
